(TSX.V: GCX | US OTC: GCXXF) (“Granite Creek” or the “Company”) is pleased to provide full details on the recent Board of Directors and Advisory Board appointments of industry veterans recognized for their significant, collective accomplishments in mine development and operations, processing expertise, and track record of international discoveries. Upon closing of the acquisition of Copper North announced November 27, 2020, John Cumming and Loy Chunpongtong were appointed as directors of Granite Creek, and Greg Johnson, Dwayne McInnis and Robert Macdonald have joined Granite Creek’s Advisory Board. 

The Company further announces it has initiated the process for uplisting its common shares to the OTCQB® Venture Market from the Pink® Open Market. Board of Directors 

John Cumming – Independent Director

Mr. Cumming holds Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws degrees from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Laws degree with specialty in corporate and commercial law from King’s College, University of London. Mr. Cumming has served as a director and officer of numerous public resource corporations since beginning his legal career in 1978. From 2005 to February 2017 Mr. Cumming served as Executive Vice-President and CFO of Merrex Gold Inc., a company that was active in the West African gold space for over 12 years. In 2008 Mr. Cumming negotiated the Merrex-IAMGOLD exploration Joint Venture deal which in 2014 discovered the Diakha gold deposit in West Mali. In December 2016 Mr. Cumming lead both the Merrex negotiating team and the transaction legal team that successfully negotiated and concluded the sale of Merrex to IAMGOLD Corporation in a $43 million share takeover deal that closed in 2017.

Loy Chunpongtong – Independent Director

Mr. Chunpongtong is a mining engineer with 25 years of experience in mine planning-scheduling, pit optimization, pit design, ore-grade control planning, and advanced geo-statistical modelling. He is a Registered Professional Engineer (Alberta) and holds a bachelor’s degree in mine engineering and a master’s degree in economics, both from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand. Loy is the Surface Mining Society Peer Review Chair for the CIM Journal and is an Executive Officer of the CIM Surface Mining Society.

Technical Advisory Board

Greg Johnson

Mr. Gregory Johnson has 30 years of experience in the mining industry with a record of success in exploration, development and financing of large-scale base and precious metals projects from discovery stage through advanced economic assessment. In addition to his expertise in the exploration for platinum group elements, gold, silver, nickel and copper, Mr. Johnson has developed broad experience in the capital markets and has been involved in raising over $650-million in project financing for his companies, as well as building their shareholder bases and securing the participation of major institutional investors.

He began his career with Placer Dome Inc. (now Barrick Gold Corp.) where he held various senior roles in domestic and international exploration. One of the founders of NovaGold Resources, Mr. Johnson was a co-recipient of the PDAC’s Thayer Lindsay International Discovery Award for his role in the discovery and advancement of the 40-million-ounce Donlin Creek gold deposit in Alaska. As President and CEO of South American Silver and Wellgreen Platinum, Mr. Johnson led the significant expansion and advancement of several major precious and base metal deposits. He currently serves as Chairman and CEO of Metallic Minerals Corp. and Executive Chairman of Group Ten Metals.

Mr. Johnson has also been recognized for his work in sustainable development and community engagement and was awarded the Robert E. Leckie Award by the Yukon government for excellence in environmental stewardship. Mr. Johnson holds a BSc Honors in Geology from Western Washington University.

Robert W.J. Macdonald

Mr. Macdonald is the Vice-President of Geological Services for the Manex Resource Group of Companies and in such capacity has been the Vice-President Exploration for several publicly-listed companies including Southern Silver Exploration Corporation, Equity Metals Corporation and Homestake Resource Corporation as well as Exploration Manager for a number of other exploration companies. Mr. Macdonald has overseen the exploration of many projects throughout North America including the discovery and delineation of the high-grade 1.2 million-ounce Homestake Ridge Au-Ag deposit in northern British Columbia and the advancement of Southern Silver’s Cerro Las Minitas Ag-Pb-Zn project, Durango State, Mexico. Mr. Macdonald graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons) from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1990 and earned an MSc. from the University of British Columbia in 1999. Over his career in geosciences, Mr. Macdonald’s work has focused on vein and intrusion-related gold systems, VMS and Skarn/CRD environments. Prior to joining Manex Group, Mr. Macdonald worked as a geologist with the British Columbia Geological Survey and Teck Exploration on projects in Alaska, Peru and British Columbia.

Dwayne McInnis 

Mr. McInnis is an entrepreneur with 20 years of experience in the mineral exploration sector with a focus on community involvement.   He was involved in the creation of two joint venture companies, Tahltan Northern Exploration Services and Tahltan Drilling Services, which provided exploration services to clients in Tahltan traditional territory and has assisted exploration companies in securing access agreements throughout British Columbia. Prior to his involvement in mineral exploration he served as an Environmental Manager in the forest industry.
